Tiger Lily

Tiger Lily
Tiger Lily, by Jean Wilkey, oil on panel, 4×4 in.

So I thought I’d do Leslie Saeta’s 30 in 30 challenge again. That’s 30 paintings in 30 days. I knew I wouldn’t be able to do 30 since I have too many other larger pieces I need to finish on deadline, but I’ll post when I can do one.  This is one I did of a Tiger Lily – at least I think that’s what they’re called. They’re really spectacular and quite fragrant, filling my entire studio with their scent. This one actually took me much longer than I had planned. Small paintings don’t necessarily equal quick paintings. Sometimes I think faces are easier to paint than flowers!
