Serviette at Greg’s

When I first lived in Israel in the 1990s, it was rare that you would be given a napkin with your meal unless you asked for it. They were often called a serviettes, from the British influence I suppose. They were expensive and as about as absorbent as waxed paper. Last night I had dinner with one of my dearest friends in the world, Colleen. She treated me to a wonderful evening including dessert at Greg’s coffee shop. I didn’t even have to ask for the napkin which was so soft it was hard to draw on.
