Yesterday brought cooler weather and much needed rain just in time for the opening of
Out of Place at the
Unsettled Gallery in Las Cruces, NM; a two person exhibition by
Jenni Higginbotham and myself.
About ten of my pieces in the show are images of bird nests atop various man-made bases, containing unexpected objects. Here’s one of the nest paintings.

I also had a few mixed media works in the show. The walls have a yellow cast and so do the lights, which makes the color appear a bit warmer overall.

It was great that so many people came out on a rainy Saturday afternoon. One of my former students and his family drove all the way up from Juarez for the show.
