“Out of Place” opening at Unsettled Gallery

Yesterday brought cooler weather and much needed rain just in time for the opening of Out of Place at the Unsettled Gallery in Las Cruces, NM; a two person exhibition by Jenni Higginbotham and myself.

About ten of my pieces in the show are images of bird nests atop various man-made bases, containing unexpected objects. Here’s one of the nest paintings.

I also had a few mixed media works in the show. The walls have a yellow cast and so do the lights, which makes the color appear a bit warmer overall.

It was great that so many people came out on a rainy Saturday afternoon. One of my former students and his family drove all the way up from Juarez for the show.
