Open studio
My studio practice has been mostly non-existent this past year. All of 2023 was spent preparing for the solo show I had last spring. I had intentions for that show. I would post every day on Instagram and weekly on the blog. It didn’t happen. Mostly because over the past several years I have become increasingly involved in regional Baha’i activities. Because of that, I am at home less and my studio practice is shifting. It will become something else, although at this point, I don’t know what shape that will take.
In the meantime. I am releasing what no longer serves me. This provides you an opportunity.
Showing the work
For the first time in at least five years, I’ll be opening my studio during the For the Love of Art Studio Tour. I will display some of the pieces from my solo show last spring with prices starting at $20 for the small sky paintings.
Artists always keep pieces back. The one’s they can’t bear to part with, the ones that for some reason didn’t sell, the ones that represent a turning point in their work, the ones that have some special meaning for them, and those that represent a path no longer trodden.
At the open studio, some of these older works will be available at low or ‘pay what you will’ pricing.
If you are interested in seeing them, drop by my studio which will be open:
Saturday, February 1st from 10-4 p.m.
Sunday, February 2nd from 12-4 p.m.
Monkey business
Along with my own work, the fabric work of Helen Hiatt will be on display. I’m not monkeying around about this, but she is. Come see her very whimsical and creative sock monkeys. They are like no monkeys you’ve seen before.
